Online Banking FAQ

Is there a monthly fee for Online Banking?

American Bank does not charge any fees for consumer or business online banking.

What do I need to bank online?

Online Banking works well on most current browsers, though they must support 128-bit SSL encryption. If your browser does not support these encryption levels, you’ll need to update it. To get started, simply enroll to receive your log in information. No extra software is necessary. You can access your American Bank accounts from any PC  or mobile device that has Internet access.

What types of accounts can I view with Online Banking and how often is information updated?

With Online Banking, you can view all your American Bank checking and savings accounts as well as loans. Account information is updated in real time, offering you the most current information available.

How secure is my personal account information?

American Bank uses the latest internet security available, including secure communications (SSL), firewalls, 128-bit encryption and operating systems that have been designed to provide maximum security.

Why am I sometimes signed off and have to sign in again?

If Online Banking has been inactive for a specific period of time, Online Banking may automatically sign you off to prevent unauthorized use of your accounts and to prevent others from viewing your information.

Can I access my accounts from both home and work?

Yes, you can access your accounts from almost any PC.  However, we recommend that if you are using a device that is connected to anything other than your home network or personal data plan, that you limit what type of information you transmit.  These other public networks can be unsecure and you wouldn't want to expose your personal banking information.

How do I reset my Online Banking password if I forget it?

You can do these one of two ways:

  1. You can click the Forgot Password link next to log-in information on the red bar at the bottom of our website.  This will take you to a screen to enter your username, last four digits of your social security number and your email address.  An email will be sent to you with instructions on how to change your password.
  2. You can also contact us at any of our full-service offices and a Customer Service Representative can help you reset your password.

How do I modify/change/stop a recurring transfer in online banking?

Once you log-in to American Bank's online banking site, click the Transfer tab in the blue bar in the middle of the page.  On this screen, scroll to the bottom where scheduled transfers appear.  You can choose Edit or Delete next to any pending transfers.  You can either edit details of the scheduled transfer or delete it all together.
